Our purpose

Empowering micro recyclers, and driving a circular future

AMRA exists to disrupt the centralised recycling system by empowering micro recyclers, increasing local manufacturing, and reducing reliance on virgin plastics.

Through knowledge-sharing, advocacy, and a connected network, we help recyclers scale their impact and keep valuable materials in circulation.

AMRA (Australian MicroRecyclers Association) has been asked to make a submission to the Seafood Plastic Stewardship Board as part of their quest to get better Circular Economy outcomes in the Seafood Industry.  The National Body will present their findings in Canberra in September and we have put forward great options in the recycling and processing space.  These types of collaborations and national programmes ultimately assists all of our members and promotes the role we can play in circular economy solutions.

Although our definition of a MicroRecycler is a business turning over less than $5M per annum this does not exclude larger companies from joining the Association.  The Association already has larger corporate members that provide services or equipment to the Micro Recycler or are involved in the new sector in some way.  The Association is there for all participants in building a circular economy in Australia and we welcome all members equally.  Big, small or medium we need everyone to be involved to promote decentralised recycling and manufacturing in Australia.
